Michael McGimpsey with key health officials and doctors

Swine flu

With the number of confirmed cases of swine flu growing around the world, it seems people here who've visited affected areas have been quick to report any sign of sickness.

So far thirteen people have been tested for the contagious virus. We're still waiting for two test results. The rest came back clear.

The health authorities have stepped up their efforts to stop the threat. Special respiratory masks are to be provided for front line health service workers and a telephone helpline is to be set up.

Our Health Correspondent, Marie-Louise Connolly, reports.

Earlier today the Minister for Health Michael McGimpsey held a press conference with some of the key officials and doctors responsible for co-ordinating the response to the disease.
