New search for the Disappeared

Forensic experts are to examine a new site in the hunt for one of the Disappeared.

The site is in Co Louth where the remains of Crossmaglen man Gerry Evans are said to be buried.

It has been claimed he was shot 30 years ago as a suspected informer. He is one of two men from Crossmaglen who vanished.

The family of the other man, Charlie Armstrong, say they know the general area in which he's buried, they just need help to pinpoint the exact location.

Conor Macauley reports.

Mr Armstrong's daughter, Anna McShane, was in her twenties when he disappeared.

She says her family are not interested in who killed him or why, they just want to find his body.

The man leading the hunt for the bodies is forensic specialist Geoff Knupfer.
