Police visit the scene of the attack

Hate crime

A group of Hungarian women have been forced to take shelter under a table as a gang of men smashed their way into a house in the Village area of south Belfast.

Windows and doors were broken in the attack which took place last night.

The women were threatened and told to leave the area.

The Housing Executive says that before the incident, 11 households had presented themselves as homeless because of trouble in that part of Belfast.

A 21 year old man is still being questioned by police, as Mervyn Jess reports.
