Grand Slam team interviews

Three of Ireland's triumphant rugby team members join us in the BBC Newsline studio.

On tonight's programme, Ulster rugby's Tom Court, Paddy Wallace and Stephen Ferris spoke to Stephen Watson about their memories of Saturday's historic win.

But it could all have been so different.

Paddy Wallace relived his horror of conceding a penalty to Wales in the dying moment of the match, and said he thought he was going to be "the most hated man in Ireland".

But what about match itself - and Grand Slam Saturday in Cardiff's Millennium stadium? Thomas Niblock was there for BBC Newsline to witness a day of drama in the Welsh capital.

Ireland also had to defeat France, Italy, England and Scotland - two at home in Croke Park and two away. Tomorrow night on BBC Northern Ireland we'll have a special programme looking back at how the Grand Slam was won. In the meantime we thought we would reflect on a few of the key moments en route to that historic day in Cardiff. Gavin Andrews sent this report.
