Obama says peace will prevail

The US President met political leaders from Northern Ireland and the Republic on his first St Patrick's Day in the Whitehouse.

Barack Obama paid tribute to what he called the heroic response of people here to the dissident republican murders of two soldiers and a police officer.

He said the response to the killings made him more confident that peace will prevail.
