Snow causes havoc

Heavy snow causes disruption across Northern Ireland.

Today's snowfall, 10 centimetres deep in parts, caused problems for commuters and schools in particular.

The runway at Belfast City airport was closed for most of the morning and some incoming flights had to be diverted to Belfast International airport.

This morning's rush hour was a slow, frustrating journey for motorists and it was a treacherous trek into work if you were on foot.

Mervyn Jess reports from the Roads Service Traffic Control Centre.

Some parents were left frustrated after struggling through traffic only to be turned away at the school gates. This report from our Education Correspondent, Maggie Taggart.

Conor Macauley has been getting some top tips on negotiating the roads in these icy conditions.
