Murderer sentenced

A man who raped and murdered a Belfast mother has been jailed for at least 22 years.

The murder of Grace Moore at her west Belfast home in November 2006 shocked even the most seasoned police officers.

Kristoff Emmanuel Alauya, who was described as an extremely dangerous predator, raped and stabbed the mother-of-one just hours after meeting her in a nightclub.

Her body was found by her 16 year old daughter.

Today at Belfast Crown court, Mr Justice Weir told Alauya he could find no evidence of remorse on his part for the killing. He told him he must serve at least 22 years in jail.

Shortly after the murder, Alauya was captured on CCTV shopping for burgers and chocolate. The footage formed part of the murder investigation.
