BBC Sport NI’s Stephen Watson and cameramen/editor Gary McCutcheon are on a drive for glory with a difference. The two men will be aiming to bring BBC Newsline viewers six LIVE reports over six days from the six different rugby nations, travelling in their specially equipped BBC Newsline van. ![]() “With all the excitement ahead of the first big weekend, we wanted to do something a little bit different,” said Stephen. “Gary and I have covered lots of other major sporting events and we like a challenge so we’re hoping we’ll be able to kick this one into touch! Our mammoth journey of around 6000 miles will take us from Belfast to Rome, to Castres and Paris in France, before travelling through England, Wales and Scotland and arriving in Dublin on the eve of Ireland’s opening match.” Help playing audio/video ![]() Stephen and Gary will be using the latest broadcasting technology to beam their reports back to Belfast, and as well as providing live reports each night on BBC Newsline, they will be charting their journey with regular updates, photos and a blog on this website. Stephen will also be reporting from Croke Park for Ireland’s first game against France on Saturday, February 07.
