Connor Clements

Sundance film success

A local filmmaker is celebrating success at the biggest independent cinema festival in the USA

Connor Clements from Scarva, Co. Down, is the writer and director of a short film titled "James" which follows a teenage boy coming to terms with his sexuality.

The film was shot as part of Connor's Master's degree course at Queen's University.

It won a series of awards last year and this week it will be screened at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

It's the first ever short film from Northern Ireland to be shown at the prestigious festival.

Our reporter Julie McCullough caught up with Scarva's own Sundance Kid just before he jetted off to America.

Watch Connor's interview in full.
