Kegworth Plane Crash

Twenty years ago 47 people died in the Kegworth air disaster in England.

They were on a flight to Belfast from London when one of its engines caught fire. It crashed just short of the runway at East Midlands Airport as it attempted to make an emergency landing.

The investigation found that the Boeing 737's pilots had mistakenly shut down the one remaining good engine and tried to fly on the damaged engine.

Mervyn Jess looks back with some of the survivors of flight BD92.
