Hospitals in the Northern Trust area say they're experiencing a fifty percent increase in admissions - many of them elderly with flu-like symptoms and chest infections. The Trust has cancelled all non-urgent elective surgical admissions until further notice and has opened an additional ward at Antrim Area Hospital to deal with the extra numbers.
