Flu Outbreak

The flu bug is taking its toll on hospital services and has led to the cancellation of some operations.

Hospitals in the Northern Trust area say they're experiencing a fifty percent increase in admissions - many of them elderly with flu-like symptoms and chest infections.

The Trust has cancelled all non-urgent elective surgical admissions until further notice and has opened an additional ward at Antrim Area Hospital to deal with the extra numbers.

BBC Newsline's Julian O'Neill speaks to the hospital's A&E Consultant.
