An unexploded World War II grenade was found by workers at a bridge over the River Avon in Wiltshire.
The propelled grenade was found at Bowden Hill, Lacock just after 09:00 BST.
Bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion 100m from the bridge. A police cordon near the Rising Sun pub has been removed.
Officers have asked anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
