Shoppers and clubbers in parts of Devon will be able to park for £1 on Saturdays during February.
Torbay councillors have decided to launch the scheme between noon and midnight in an attempt to boost the local economy.
The offer applies at 19 council-run car parks across Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.
Torbay councillor Robert Excel said he hoped the move would "give the traders a chance to do some business".
Ian Broadfoot, chief executive of Torbay Town Centres Company, said: "This is traditionally a quiet time of year and hopefully this initiative will bring in more customers to the town centres, increase trade and if successful can be extended into March."
