A 29‑year‑old driver has been arrested after a car crashed into traffic lights and ended up on its roof in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said the single‑vehicle crash was reported at 15:35 BST on Sunday in Bestwood Park Drive, and that the road remained closed due to debris.

The driver and a female passenger were taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life‑threatening. A baby in the vehicle was uninjured, the force added.

The driver has been arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and driving while over the prescribed drug limit - namely cannabis. He remains in hospital.
