Installing Disability Bitch
The simplest installation method is to click the big pink Download button on this page. A window should open asking what you want to do with a file called Install_DisabilityBitch.exe. Click Run to install the application, following the on-screen instructions as you progress.
If you prefer, you can choose to save the file to your computer, either in My Documents or on the Desktop. Once saved, find the file and then double click on it to begin the installation, following the on-screen instructions.
Note: If you accidentally the file in the wrong place and can't find it, search for Install_DisabilityBitch.exe using Search from the Windows Start button at the bottom right of the screen.
I've opened the file and installed it. What now?
Look in the System Tray in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. There, you should see the Disability Bitch icon - a little pink square containing the letters DB.
If you can't find the icon, click Start, Programs, Disability Bitch and then Disabiity Bitch again from the sub-menu.
I am not receiving messages
Check that you are online. You must be connected to the internet to receive updates.
How do I close down Disability Bitch?
Close her down? She won't like that! However, if you need to remove her from your desktop for a while, simply right click on the character to reveal a list of menu items. Choose Snooze and then one of the durations - 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or 4 hours - if you want her to buzz off for one of her power naps.
To close DB down completely, however, select Exit - that's the last option on the right-click menu.
Is Disability Bitch safe to use?
She is completely safe and secure. The file doesn't contain any spyware, and your privacy is completely respected. (You can find out more about privacy when using the application by checking out this page on the skinkers.com website.)
How do I uninstall Disability Bitch?
There are two ways to remove DB from your system completely. The first option is to go to the Windows Start menu button at the bottom right corner of the screen. Navigate to Programs, Disability Bitch and you'll find Uninstall in the sub-menu.
The second option is to navigate to Windows Add/Remove Programs, which is located in the Control Panel. Look for Disability Bitch (remove only) and uininstall the application from there. (We advise consulting Windows Help for more information on accessing the Control Panel.)
DB is so good that I'd like to tell my friends about her
Disability Bitch is an immensely popular figure, but she's always keen to meet even more people. Here's how you can share the bitchiness. Right click on her character and select Send To A Friend. That should open a new email message in your chosen email program. Put your friend's email address in the 'To' field, add your own comments to the message if you like, and then send it in the normal way.
I'm using an Apple Mac - is there a version of DB for me?
Sorry, but no. The Disability Bitch desktop buddy is only available for Windows computers.
