Jannik Vestergaard's Leicester City contract has been terminated by mutual agreement in the wake of the club's relegation to League One.
The 33-year-old Denmark international had a year remaining on his deal with the Foxes, but has taken the opportunity to leave after back-to-back relegations dropped the 2016 Premier League title winners into the third tier.
Vestergaard joined Leicester from Southampton in 2021 and was relegated three times in his five years with the Foxes - with the club yo-yoing between the top-flight and Championship between 2023 and 2025 before sliding down to League One.
He made a total of 118 appearances for the East Midlands club but has become the latest of the big wage earners to be moved on in a summer revamp at King Power Stadium.
Former England international Harry Winks was sold to Italian side Cagliari a day earlier and Victor Kristiansen was sent out on loan to Greek side Panathinaikos, while forwards Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka, as well as captain Ricardo Pereira were all released at the end of their contracts earlier in the summer.
