Q: Compared to places like London or Glasgow, Leicester isn’t well known for its music scene. Who do you think deserves success from the Midlands circuit?T: Engelbert Humperdinck!S: Yeh!T: My brother’s band, ‘Ratman’. They deserve success because I’m paying for them! Q: Who’s been your favourite band to play alongside on tour?T: Mad Action – but all the bands have been good really.S: The Von Bondies as well, in their own way… Q: What makes a Kasabian gig unique?S: Tom, he’s the star!T: Ah, thank you! Q: What’s been the best moment for you in the last six months?T: Getting Serge out of bed, he was wrecked! But it’s a long story… Q: Do you have any advice for bands trying to break through and get signed?S: Just get touring, playing as many gigs as possible. Don’t worry about doing an album or anything.T: A single maybe, but just get in as many gigs as you can. Q: How were the summer festivals in Japan?T: Unbelievable, the crowds were very different there. Q: What’s driven you to be in a band?T & S: Fear of working! Q: How are you going to live up to your reputation as the ringleaders of the new surge of British bands?T: We’ve just got to walk our own yellow brick road really.
