Following their successful productions of 'The Hollow', 'The Unexpected Guest' and 'And Then There Were None', the Agatha Christie Theatre Company continue to bring classic thrillers from one of the experts of the genre, to the stage. Theatre impresario Bill Kenwright founded the company in Spring 2006 after an embargo on theatre performances of her work was lifted. Since then they have sought to bring as many classic Christie thrillers to audiences starved of work by one of Britain's best-selling authors. The plot of 'Spider's Web revolves around the moment when Clarissa discovers a dead body in her drawing-room and tries to dispose of it before her Foreign Office diplomat husband returns home with a government VIP guest in tow. Equipped with an over-active imagination, Clarissa finds real life murder a little too hard to handle! Having persuaded her house guests to help her, it soon becomes apparent that the dead man was not unknown to everyone amongst them. As the web of deceit starts to unravel, Clarissa pulls her friends into a desperate race to unveil the murderer and solve the mystery before the police discover the felony and arrest her as their prime suspect! ![]() Melanie Gutteridge & Denis Lill The cast features many faces from TV drama including Denis Lill ('The Royal', 'Survivors' and 'Outside Edge'), Melanie Gutteridge ('The Bill'), Catherine Shipton (best known for her long-standing role as Duffy in 'Casualty' and Mark Wynter who has had a long and varied career, starting out as a pop star in the 1960s before graduating to acting on TV, film and the stage.
