I have known alan for many years he has an exceptioal talent with a roler his walls have been a joy to view. I have spent many a day in his car riding through chorley just listening to him saying "I once painted all of these in this street" he always knows how lived there and had a funny story to tell me. I got some good decorating tips from him over the years. I was sad when he had to stop his life long proffession, he had an excellent reputation and was loved by all the little old ladies. But just look what he can do now even more fantastic productions of brilliance. I have a few paintings of his on my walls all origionals and they are wonderful. The brilliant web site is a credit to Joan, I couldn't do it, what a star you are. You always move with the time techno "wizzo" I have to say that i have a platform to shout from the highest hill becouse these two people happen to be my Mother and Father, and how proud I am of the both of them for filling their lives with such diversity. The way in which they have moved with these times has proved to be more than interesting... Shar x

Known Alan for a few years now. Has painted some very good pictures. Glad to see his "gallery" is being made available to a wider audience.

We have a few of "Rembrandt" Blake's watercolours, and I (Ann) am another of his pupils. He gave me the courage to start painting in the first place, and it has given me a new interest as well as a new way of looking at the world. Thank you, Alan and Joan, and it's nice to see you getting the recognition you deserve.

As well as being a fantastic artist Alan also teaches watercolour painting. I am one of his pupils. I had never painted in my life until starting the classes at the caravan park. Everyone has come on leaps and bounds and I really enjoy it. We had a small exhibition last summer which brought many favourable comments. Looking forward to more lessons when the new season begins.

Love the Bald Eagle.

Wonderful paintings I enjoyed looking at all of them. Just shows you are never too old to learn and that you can teach an old dog new tricks!

It is good to see Radio Lancashire recognising the talents of local people. There is no doubt that both Joan and Alan are very talented in their own special ways. Joan with her computer skills and Alan with his artistic skills. It is even more remarkable when you know that they are both self taught.

We’ve only known Joan & Alan for a few years now, we enjoy their company & friendship. They are enthusiastic in everything they do, Joan with her computer work & Alan with his paintings & artwork. Alan has encouraged many people at Foldhouse Caravan Park to develop their paintings & artwork skills, his paintings are varied & beautifully done they are a work of art & a credit to him!

What an uplifting article about Alan Blake and lovely wife Joan - at last some good news to read! So pleased to see the media reporting on honest, hardworking, normal people for a change. Time to see more of what the majority of law abiding citizens are doing with their lives instead of giving unworthy layabouts the headlines!! Well done Alan for the lovely pictures you paint and well done Joan for the supporting role with the website!
