How I agree with LJ this island is finished thanks to our politicans they have not given a "toss" for the local people only aring for the the finance industry and there own selfish selves well done messrs le sueur walker ozouf and cronies lets hope one day your turn will come, do not come to us for symphany you do not deserve or will you get any.

Hi JayOnly Grolsh on offer? You obviously don't open your eyes when you go to the club as I know I get Carling/Becks/Bud/Corona/Miller. As for house/Techno nights you sure you got the right venue. Oh you must be talking about club:Lounge. Hence the following meaningsClub:Lounge/Live Lounge. Club Lounge = dance/DnB/Funk/Hip Hop etc. Very rare will you get to hear House/Techno. Oh forgot INDIE as well.Live = Live music. Still not House/Techno though. As for Indie it has never been said that the venue has been an indie venue as most people like yourselves have no idea what the word means let alone the music. Maybe you should stick to staying in with your cans of Breda & your I Pod & your smash hits magazine.

too many skanky pubs that most people are scared to walk past, let alone go into. You can never have too many pubs as choice is everything, and there really is nothing else to do of an evening.

Yes there are too many pubs in jersey but theres nothing else to do..without all these pubs we would all be sitting in the libary

People talk about too many clubs, but there isn't actually any variety. go out on a Saturday night and you will hear the same songs played too loud everywhere you go. Bon Jovi, Guns n' Roses, it's all the same. We need a decent indie bar, and don't talk to me about Q Club, what a joke that place is, only Grolsch on offer and Techno/House nights dominating the timetables.

I think there are too many pubs and clubs in Jersey, however, there's not a lot else to do!

Scott - this isn't really the place for this as this is a topic about pubs in the island.

However, I've spoken to our Sports Producer and he's looking into it - there are a number of reasons a story might not appear 1) it's taking a while to go through the sub-editors in Birmingham, 2) we didn't hear about it from the people involved or 3) something else.

I believe those establishments that you talk about with 'plush' facilities are called BARS, or WINE BARS. It's happening in england aswell, the BRITISH pub is dying!!!! the frosted glass, smell of stale ale, old bloke in the corner, sticky floors etc, decent lager at good prices, landlords who actually clean out the pipes...we may lose forever. Those pubs had character, and 'real' people in them, now they just put empty wine bottles on the wall, paint everything burgundy, wooden floors, bowen styled furniture, cr@p lager, overpriced drinks, and people in suits who talk shop all night and hand out their business cards to people. Give me the old days and time.

its not a case of being "over pubbed" the problem here is that the pubs are not up to standard,a lack of investment inside exsisting pubs, appauling toilet facilities, could not care less attitude of the staff, and rip off prices that is why many people will not step inside the doors, i suggest Mr Le Quesne is worried about new pubs with far excellent facilities is what he should worry about, gone are the days of where people would tolerate shabby service,drunken customers,get into the 21st century
