I am interested in this world. I am not a crazy person. I am not mad. I am not out of my mind. I am a sensible person. I am a scholar. I study the world. I study the environment. I study the weather. As I said before, I am a scientist.
I am worried about things, certainly. I am uneasy about some of the statistics I read these days. Yes, why wouldn’t I be? Things are changing. Things are happening which shouldn’t happen. But I am not a crazy person. Knowledge of evil is better than evil without awareness. That’s my mantra. Do you understand? Knowledge of evil is better than evil without awareness. It’s better to be knowledgeable about a bad thing than ignorant of it. Knowledge is better than ignorance. Research is better than nothing. That’s my own view.
That’s the reason I am talking to you. I want information from you and I want to give you information. Let us talk together. Let us converse together. And above anything else, let us act together. Yes, let us be active. Let us do this research together. Let us do this work together. I can’t do it by myself. I want to make a thorough study of the research. I want to do that research along with you. We can collect the research. We can discuss the research. We can start a debate. We can discuss the results of the research. We can prepare a plan. Then, we can act. But let us have the information first. That’s the best way.
As I said, I’m not a crazy person. I’m a reasonable person. I’m a sensible person. I am a scientist. I am a scholar. I am looking for information; I am looking for help. I am not trying to scare anyone, don’t let anyone be worried. I am not announcing that it will be the end of the world …yet! I am not trying to frighten anyone. I am trying to start a sensible discussion. That’s all.
I believe in science. I believe science is worthwhile. I believe science is effective. I believe science helps people. I believe science helps the planet. I believe this planet is alive. I don’t believe this planet of ours is a cold, dead rock. I believe it is a living fertile place. I believe the planet gives us water and air and food. We grow on this planet and this planet grows with us.
Every care must be given to it – as we give care to a child. The planet is alive. I am alive. You are alive. We are all alive. Let us be alive together. Let us talk together.
