WOMAN’S WORK…

You may have heard of Speed Dating but how about speed networking?

You may have heard of Speed Dating but how about speed networking? Meet Yorkshire, the networking group for women in Yorkshire that aims to support women who either have their own businesses or would like to start one, held a speed networking event at Bishop Burton on 19th November.

Over 60 women attended the event to share ideas and make new contacts in order to share their hopes, fears, frustrations and successes regarding their businesses.

"It was a fantastic event and the feedback has been superb"

Katrina Thompson

Co-founder of the Beverley group, Katrina Thompson from Katproductions Ltd said “It was a fantastic event and the feedback has been superb – everybody had a great time and made some useful contacts too.”

The next monthly meeting of Meet Yorkshire takes place on 21st January 2008 when members will find out how to make the most of PR from former Yorkshire Post editor, Rachael Campey.

The group is affiliated to the national organisation WiRE (women in rural enterprise) and is a not for profit organisation, run by volunteers who have their own small businesses.
