Located just off the seafront it boasts an intact interior from the heyday of coffee bars in early 1960s. The café is owned by Michael Smith and his family who have run the place since last December. It has become a haunt for the local scooter fraternity; many of who turn-up en-masse when weekend rallies take place. As well as scooter fans the café sees people of all ages who come to see the sixties memorabilia plastered across every wall and ceiling. Despite being the owner for only a few months Mr Smith says he will miss the place. “It’s when you get people coming in and you see your friends coming in and we think what are we going to do when we’ve sold it? But you have to move on.” Help playing audio/video last updated: 23/11/07 SEE ALSOYou are in: Humber > Features > People and Places > Sixties Seaside Chic |
