Children in Hull are using techonology to link-up with students in New York

Children at St Andrew’s Primary School in Sutton Park, Hull have had the opportunity to find out more about fellow students in America by means of video conferencing.

The transatlantic sessions help the children learn about cultural differences and similarities between Hull and Primrose School in Upstate New York.

The regular video conferencing allows the class to take part in joint projects across the pond and helps the children to share ideas with one another.

The school links up with their partner school at least once every half term and it’s hoped that more schools will adopt the idea.

Sally Bennett, a teacher at St Andrew’s Primary School, said, “It gives them a bigger picture of the world and know that everyone doesn’t do things exactly the same as we do.”
