A tree of your very own to grow

This was all part of Autumn Watch 2007. People from around Yorkshire and Lincolnshire donned the Open Centre doors on Sat November 10 to receive information on Local Autumn Watch events in our region, free wild seeds and also free trees…. Yes free mini trees to plant and nurture at home with all the planting advice you could need.

This is all in conjunction with BBC Breathing Places and Autumn Watch, Our mission statement for the day was ‘Do One Thing – Plant a Tree”.

Emily Rabie BBC Guide Says “It was unbelievably popular, I even learnt a few handy tips on what plants to plant and what wildlife to watch out for in my garden”

Agnes Walker, a visitor to the BBC Open Centre added

“I think it’s really important that we learn about nature and what’s around us. I can’t wait to get home and plant my spindle tree”

As well as Free Breathing Places and Autumn watch information the Bransholme Green Enterprise Team was on hand to explain how green regeneration is helping the Bransholme area.

Bransholme Enterprises is a social enterprise company limited by guarantee.

They aim to initiate, develop and continually support projects and enterprises that are of social, environmental and economic benefit to the Bransholme area of Hull.

If you missed the event don’t panic – Leaflets and Information are still available in the Open Centre and helpful websites also support the project.
