Hull celebrated spring in true style this year. Springwatch 2007, back for a second year, turned the city centre into a vision of spring with wildlife, wild flowers and a host of activities for 'springwatchers' of all ages. Kids Club regulars, Charley, Holly and Sally grabbed a camera and set off to see what Springwatch is all about. We've had great fun today - everyone's had their faces painted, I'm a rabbit and the twins (Sally and Holly) are bright pink cats with purple noses. ![]() Fifi and Bumble entertain the crowds The first thing we saw was a giant Ladybird and Fifi with Bumble -they were entertaining all the other kids and giving out free bags of seeds which we're going to plant when we get home. There was lots to do - at one stall we made bird seed cakes and planted some sun flowers seeds in pots to take home. Then in another tent there were 3 owls which you could hold, but there was quite a crowd so we thought we'd come back later. ![]() Spring Clowns A clown was making balloon animals and flowers, and he made us one each. Then we went into one tent and put on some Wellington boots and stood in bright coloured paint, and then walked on some canvas and made a picture. We also did hand painting and bought rubber ‘bouncing’ eggs. The sun was shining and the day was lovely. There were lots of people at Springwatch and loads and loads of flowers, which were very pretty. We hope you do this again next year.
