Conservative Party leader David Cameron is spending two days as a teaching assistant at Kingswood School in Hull.
With the scheduled departure of Tony Blair as Prime Minister and likely successor Gordon Brown declaring education to be his "personal passion" during his candidate's speech, Mr Cameron's visit signals education as a key election battleground between the parties.
Writing on his personal blog Mr Cameron describes his main duties at Kingswood School as "Two English classes, some playground duty, and helping supervise lunch". He also reports that not a single pupil in a class of 13 year-olds had heard of the Conservative Party when asked.
