Welcome to Life in the Open Centre

We want to hear your stories, memories and experiences. Everyday, hundreds of people visit the BBC Open Centre to use the free internet and find out more about BBC Yorkshire and Lincolnshire - these are just some of their stories.

John Price popped into the Open Centre to share the story of how Hull became his home. John left the sun drenched beaches of Australia for the bright lights of London but when his son came to England to coach rugby league, John moved north to Hull to join him.

Bill Guest first shared his own war-time memories as part of the BBC Telling Lives project. But recently he discovered his father’s medals and the story behind them.

Graham Bonas was the winner of the Making Waves auction and is the proud new owner of the specially commissioned oil painting, ‘Making Waves’ by Adrian Thompson. He received the painting at the Making Waves Appeal party at the BBC Open Centre on March 2. Graham has spent the last few years raising money for DebRA – a charity which helps sufferers of the devastating genetic skin disorder, EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa).

Denis Price is a CSV Action Desk volunteer and a member of the Regional Advisory Council. He first came across the Open Centre when he became a story gatherer for the BBC Peoples War campaign.

To find out what's on at the BBC Open Centre, share your stories or find out more about your BBC, pop in and see us at Queens Court, Hull.
