After she was made redundant from her previous job, Oban Hogarth has been designing handbags, scarves and other accessories from her home in Hull since January 2005.

She has applied her artistic talents to jewellery making and sculpture before venturing into the fashion industry.

Her love of retro chic inspired her to setup a business designing and selling handbags that are bold and individually unique in style.

"I've always had a passion for handbags. I've always sewed and made things so I thought I'd give it a go and give it my best shot." said the designer.

"So far the response has been good. The first few months were tough, it took a long time to promote awareness but towards the end of the first year, people started to take an interest."
