I was born within the sound of Bow Bells in Stratford, London - so technically I am a true "Cockney' but first lived north of the Thames for my first 10 years before moving to Streatham. I attended Dunraven School until the outbreak of war September 1939. When war broke out I missed evacuation with my school because our family was on holiday in Sussex.
The next six years are a part of my story which I plan to add to the memories archives under the title- "My Personal WWII Experience From September 1939"
I subsequently married an American in 1959 and moved to the USA and currently reside in Avon Lake, Ohio.
