I was born in Crayford in 1931. We lived in Barnehurst and at the beginning of the War we evacuated to Devon. We came back just before the Battle of Britain started.Later on we were again evacuted when the V1s and V2s started. Both my brother and my father served in the armed forces in the latter part of the war. My mother did war work at Burroughs Wellcome in Dartford.
