My name is Katherine(Kitty) Mogford - Oliver when I lived in Brentwood Essex. Went to South Wales to live 1939 - war declared on my wedding day! Had two babies during the war - my husband could not fight as he was a miner - very bitter he was too about that! Saw little bombing - was sent by my father-in-law to see Swansea after it was bombed to check up on the family; was horrified at the destruction. My brother lost his arm at Tobruk and was oddly sent to recuperate at Dunraven Castle - just down the coast from Bridgend. So saw a bit of him. An odd time - I remember it with some affection almost. Now live in Stoke-on Trent.
