About the contributor

These submissions are taken from the War Memoirs of my father, H.A.B. White, who served with 11 Field Ambulance in North Africa, Italy and Austria. The Memoirs include material supplied at my father's request by others serving with 11 Field Ambulance. My father entitled the Memoirs 'Stretcher-bearers', and so 'Stretcher-bearers': prefaces the title of each of the individual pieces submitted to this archive. Numbers are given for each piece indicating where the peice occurs in the sequence of the work as a whole.
