My name is Robert Field and I was born during an air raid in WW1. On leaving the army, I entered the NHS and worked in various departments in administration. I retired in May 1983, and in my spare time I enjoy making movies, listening to music and attending concerts and activities with young people attached to the Church.
I heard about this WW2 project on BBC Southern Counties radio and decided that I had a fair bit of experience during the war and wanted to pass it on. One poignant memory was the repatriation of POW from Burma in 1945, when I was working in the Command Pay Office (SEAC).
