The Crypt of St Anne's Church in Limehouse was my shelter of which I lived opposite. It was the period of the V1's (doodlebugs) one was flying overhead when it's engine cut out I was watching it curving the church of which I was running towards to get to shelter. By watching th V1 I mis-judged the door and ran straight into the wall. I was damaged more than any bomb ever did. The V1 eventualy crashed onto property in commercial road nearly opposite Limehouse Library.
