My great nan, Muriel Brenchley, told me this story for a school project on Town Life in world war 2.

She told me one Sunday everyone was in church when they heard a very loud crash outside. The vicar ran to the door to see a plane had came down in the next door field. She told my nan, Joan Brenchley, and my great uncle, Brian brenchley, not to go outside so obviously they did!
My nan explained when they came back they were drenched but had great big smiles on there faces. They later explained that the fireman were putting out the fire, but the hoses had so many holes in that they got squirted. They then explained that they saw the plane and where absolutely amazed!
