The Picture is of my Grandad, John William Church, born 1888 - he was employed at India Rubber Gutta Percha Company in Silvertown before the war and during the war was a fireman - he helped out in the Blitz and the photo is of him (I think) in his fireman's outfit - taken 1941. He has the number 12 on his suit jacket (not sure what that relates to), also cannot see what the writing is above the number - or is is a ribbon from his WW1 medal(s) Perhaps if someone knows they can help me. I would very much love to find out if I can find records for him. Will add picture later, having problems with HP photoeditor.
