I have a very vivid memory, as a boy, of the aftermath of an air raid. A bomb had dropped in the street next to mine, and, like all boys of my age, I went round the next day, with one of my mates, to see what damage there was. Imagine our amazement, when we saw that a car had been lifted by the blast, and was now neatly parked, nose first, through an upstairs window of one of the houses, its rear wheels overhanging the window ledge!!!
