My father had been classified B2 and therefore unfit for the services. To do his bit, he worked for a firm that were carrying out repairs to houses and shops. When he was up on a roof, he found out about the horrors of war.
He came across one German pilot in parts. A leg here, arm there, torso, head etc.
He said the first time it happened it made him sick. He gradually got used to it but he said he would never forget.
