Mission Hall Refuge
Florence Ludlam nee Cawthorne
I was born on the 22nd. of September 1920 and lived at Woodside lane, Sheffield where I attended Woodside school; later I attended Burngreave school.
During the Sheffield Blitz, our neighbours did not go into the air raid shelter in their yard, but instead they went across the road and into the Mission Hall.
When they came out of the Mission Hall after the all clear had sounded, they looked across the road and saw that their house had been bombed. They were re-housed by the council and lived on Harcourt Road, later moving to Honeysuckle Road at Firth Park.
