When Singapore Fell, the captured army
Were marched into hell
Thousands were put to work on the Death Railway.

For every sleeper they did lay
There was a grave for a soldier slave
Not for them to die in battle.

They were worked to death by a merciless foe,
For a soldier that's no way to go
Those who did survive, still fight
To keep their memory alive.

These words are for the men
Who fought in that distant war
It's the least I can do, I can do no more
For those brave men the very least,
Who still lie in the

FAR EAST
