Did an aviation apprenticeship from 1940 to end of war and beyond, at Vickers Armstrongs, Weybridge, where they built Wellington bombers and other machines, working in all the production shops and technical departments (including Wallis' 'bouncing', 'tallboy' and grandslam' bombs - though we had no idea what we were working on.) It was an inspiring time, when aircraft speeds just about quadrupled in some four years; and much of it was hilarious. Have drafted a book about it, available on floppy disk, from which you could pick out bits if that would suit your purpose.
