I saw a parachute coming down over Billericay.

Bought a field in Billericay and found a plane wreck in the hedge (German)

Not sure what this says??? AVC training bay???? Came in to dig it up. After polishing it is now in Southend Museum.

It was Douglas Barden squadron hit this plane. Traced the German pilot on Great Burstead Churchyard. German helicopter command met and shook hand and Douglas (Father) would only dance with his wife.

Margaret did fire watching in Middlesex. Dousay cluster bombs. Father worked in Docks as an officer for WMS. The building had tall windows and one day I called in for lunch. A buzz bomb came and I ducked. The wooden slates came down on my head and I said ‘Tell mum about this!’. Then a shop had been hit and all staff has shell shock so they marched them off.

Mother said come and slept with me and we had the window fall in on us and also the ceiling — we were very lucky.
