I wrote to you about a year ago concerning some recordings,made by my father H.O.Sampson,during the last war .You put me in contact with Casper ? and Simon Rooks who unfortunately did not reply when I sent him the details.I don't know if there is still any interest.Anyway I thought I would you send the details now.
There are 16 discs, they are 12 inch, very heavy black disks, all with BBC labels.
Five of the discs were passed for publication on 17/5/44. ref. nos.on either side; 4 of ? and 2 of ?, 5 and 7 , 6 and 8, 9 and 11, 14 and 16.
There is one entitled “ Dutch spy trial 8/1/44 “-not to be used before 0030 hrs 9.1.44, 1 of 1. There was another disc in this sleeve with no information.
One recording 22/3/44, DBS 1,000,001,rec.ch AB1 rec. by LAG, passed by LAG, origin:mic in RB1 duration 3m 30secs, Disc 1 of 1.Title: message from H.O.Sampson to MR,MRS P.O.Sampson (they were his parents)
Recording 10/6/44 made by Mr. and Mrs. P.O.Sampson to Owen. Not to be broadcast before 0030 hrs 9/1/45(written in pencil on sleeve)

20/12/44 Dubbing of evening in ? ( ,, ,, ) Disc 2
21/12/44 Dubbing of morning in ? ( “ “ ) Disc 1

One last disk just with BBC label and nothing written on it.
That’s all for now. I don’t know if any of the above are of use to you at all. I would be grateful for any information you could send me or pointers to personal information you could give me concerning my father. I didn’t know him too well as he died when I was 11 yrs old
Incidentally, the discs are now in London as my daughter has transported them to Greenwich.

Attached is notification of recordings available from BBC war correspondent H.O.Sampson and family notes.

I am his daughter and we have these recordings in London. The family would like to donate these recordings to the BBC in return for copy on CD
