During 1943 my father's Fire Guard team were runners up in a national competition. He and his team which included my sister was filmed conducting their duties as Fire Guards. As a 10 year old I was asked to be a casualty and to my memory was filmed from the WVS directing the injured, to a clearing station , to a hospital bed.The film was shown in the Town Hall at Swindon with the Mayor present.
I now live in Sawston near Cambridge.
