Tuebrook Liverpool Hit By Exploding Ammunition Train

This is really my mother's recollection.....
All the windows of their family home (and I suspect,much more besides)were completely blown-in by the many explosions resulting from a "direct hit" on a munitions train in Tuebrook. Liverpool humour saw the family making light of the situation!! When they were just so lucky to have escaped with their lives they were all cracking jokes about GERRY. I guess that the people of both London and Liverpool(in common with many other cities) needed a sense of humour to see them through the dark days (and nights)of the BLITZ.
