hello,
I work in a prison, before 1971 it was an army camp. It has many new prison buildings ---But in the centre of the prison there are 8 old army billets they have been updated but any old soldier would still recognise them as home,I have been told they were built in 1936? .
An old friend of mine retired from the prison service about 15 years ago, from this prison, but the amazing thing is that he first started here as a boy soldier in 1940 and he saw many walking wounded from Dunkirk .
I often think about the men who served here and wether they made it through.
