People's Theatre Logo

Throughout WW2 the People's Theatre was mounting good quality drama. I hope to put some of the artefacts and information about the People's activities during the war herein. If you have anything you would like to add we would be pleased to hear about it.

During 1939 and 1945 the People's mounted some 86 productions from Shakespeare to Shaw and a range of contemporary playwrights all on rations and national shortages.

This is just the start. There is much more to come.
