Letter from Jessie Bishop, College Bounds, Aberdeen, to her father in the Royal Air Force, Egypt:
Dear Daddy,
Mother told me to write a few lines to you. I hope you don't think my writing is careless. It is bad because I am not at school. Last night, I was at the pictures to see Rita Hayworth in "Tonight and Every Night". Tonight I am going a walk with Ma and into Becci for a slider. Today I was out with Ma to get my tea. I was at the meals for my dinner and I got a small bottle of milk for a half penny to take with my dinner. I was at the beach with Ma one day in the week and we went into a cafe beside the beach and I got strawberries and ice cream. Well daddy, I have to close now.
Your loving girl,
Jessie
