Wedding of William Thomas Sillifant and Dorothy Mary Cotton On September 16th 1939, he married DOROTHY MARY COTTON at 8 o’clock in the morning by special licence. My mother had no new clothes apart from a pair of gloves! They decided to marry in haste because dad was going to be sent “up country”.
